After finance is paid off, returns to the investor increase substantially for the remainder of the PV systems life, expected to be 30+ years.

There are minimal wind-down costs – the project can even include an agreement with the manufacturer to dismantle and take back the PV system at "end of life". Most likely it will be sold to the roof owner for a nominal figure.

Income figures are based on average weather data recorded between 1981-2000. With 85% finance projects will give investors an average return on equity invested of 17%-18% p.a. for 30 years.

If inflation increases electricity prices rise above the Guaranteed payment level, an investor can break out of the contract with the local utility supplier and sell their electricity on the open market. The utility company cannot break the initial contract during the 20 year agreed period.
